Gradekeeper is a powerful Macintosh gradebook program which is easy to learn and use.
With Gradekeeper, you can use semesters, trimesters, quarters, or six-week terms. You can record scores for 48 students on 54 assignments in each term. You can group assignments into 10 categories. You can compute grades using total points or category weights. You can excuse any assignment for any student, or drop the worst score in any category. Your final exams can contribute to the term, semester, or final grade.
Gradekeeper is also very easy to use. With the default categories and options, you can start entering students, assignments, and scores right away. To change student names, assignments, or scores, simply click and type the new information. An extensive user╒s guide is built-in (choose the Gradekeeper Help command from the Help menu). There is also complete balloon help.
I wrote Gradekeeper because I was unable to find an inexpensive grading program with the features I needed which was also easy to use. I hope Gradekeeper is able to fill that void for you as well.
Gradekeeper is distributed as shareware. It is not free. You may try this program for 30 days without obligation. If you like it and decide to use it, you are expected to pay the registration fee. For more information about registering, click the Continue button in the reminder dialog.
When you register, you will receive a registration code which will eliminate those dialogs reminding you to register. You will also be entitled to free user support and future versions of Gradekeeper at no additional cost.
You may distribute your unregistered copy of Gradekeeper to anyone. You may include it on a CD-ROM or upload it onto a BBS or other online service. If you give Gradekeeper to someone else, you must include all the files in the Gradekeeper folder. You may not modify the program in any way.
Version 4.3 includes the following improvements:
Ñ Import and export commands have been added. The import command will allow you to read a list of students from a text file. The export command will allow you to write a list of students and their grades to a text file.
Ñ The class summary report now includes the semester grade and a final grade for the year. You may choose whether or not to show these grades by using the Report Options command.
Ñ The report options dialog has been redesigned to include several new options for the class summary report. It now uses a "multi-paned" method to show options for only one report at a time.
Ñ Some minor changes have been made in the missing assignments report. The column header "Assignment" now reads "Missing Assignment". This should help clarify its purpose for students and parents.
Ñ Some minor changes have been made in the registration form dialog. A school name field has been added.
Ñ Some problems with balloon help have been fixed.
